Rosemary Breman was the founder of the Rosemary Breman School of Dance and a passionate advocate for the art of dance. She began her dance training at the age of 8 at the Ayr School of Dance in Scotland, where she studied and honed her skills until moving to Canada in 1981. Upon her arrival in Canada, Rosemary continued her dance education and further developed her expertise.
A dedicated member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (B.A.T.D.), Rosemary was a life member and previously served as the Chairperson for the Eastern Ontario Branch of the B.A.T.D. She was also an adjudicator with the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dance (S.O.B.H.D.).
Rosemary had a distinguished competitive career in dance, with notable achievements that include placing in the British, North American, and World Championships. She performed internationally, showcasing her talents in Belgium, Germany, England, Scotland, and across North America.
Throughout her career, Rosemary led numerous workshops across North America and received numerous accolades for her choreography. Under her guidance, many students have achieved great success in examinations, competitions, and scholarships, with several attaining their Teacher’s Diploma from the B.A.T.D.
Beyond her technical expertise, Rosemary valued the lifelong friendships, bonds, and memories created through dance. She believed that the passion for dance she instilled in her students would continue to shine through for generations. Her legacy of passion and dedication remains an integral part of the studio today.
